We meet at Posthusplatsen by Malmö Central Station, a place that once lay out in the sea, and this is where our journey of discovery through Malmö’s streets begins, in a city you may already feel you know inside out. Even so, I, Monica Åberg, dare to promise that several eye-opening moments await along the way. For example, the rather surprising way entrepreneur Frans Suell received a welcome boost to his finances. Together, we dust off details in the cityscape and wind our way through streets and squares where stories and anecdotes are never far away.
After a proper Swedish coffee break at a cosy café, we continue to Södertull. But why go there, you may wonder? I think it is a good example of a place most of us pass through without knowing what we are actually passing. I will tell you more once we are there. Of course, we will also seek out where Carl Milles has left his mark on the city. About three hours after we began our walk, it will be time for a refreshment and a chance to bring together all the stories of the day. I will guide you in my own personal way, with stories, anecdotes and details that bring the city to life. This is a city walk for anyone who wants to discover Malmö with fresh eyes.
